Sweet, spiced, eggy bread that’s ready in just 15 minutes.

Prep: 5 min | Cook: 10 min | Serves: 2

French Toast

Stage 1:

  • 2 eggs

  • ¼ cup milk of choice

  • ¼ tsp nutmeg

  • ½ tsp cinnamon

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

  • pinch salt

Stage 2:

  • 4 pieces wholegrain bread

01 Bring a large frying pan to medium high heat. Add 1 tsp butter to coat base of pan.

02 Whisk stage 1 ingredients together in a bowl.

03 Pour mixture into a shallow plate. Dip bread slices into the egg mixture on both sides. Transfer bread to preheated pan and cook for 2 minutes on each side, until golden brown.

04 Re-butter pan and cook remaining slices. Serve with favourite toppings.

Dietaries:

To make this recipe gluten free, opt for gluten free bread. For a dairy free option use coconut oil instead of butter, and a dairy free milk.
